Last year, for my design practice file, I contacted an awful lot of agencies and artists. I am going to post some of these onto the blog as I think it will be helpful to me to remind of the advice and information given in their responses. Also, I contacted so many people last year, I feel as though I have no else to contact! This contact is the illustration agency, The Anna Su Agency.
LEANNE: As part of my research, I was hoping you could tell me exactly what you do, in terms of managing, finding work for, and promoting the designer.

ANNA SU: But then i would have to kill you!
Only joking, well its a compicated process, we manage the artists in terms of letting them know where there work sits in the market and how they can make that work for them. Alert them on trends and generally keep them informed on what projects are out there.
Finding work wise we attend meetings with there folio's as well as contact clients directly who we think may be interested in there work. We also work with publications such as Creative Review & Grafk as well as international trend mags on getting feature places about there projects.
A lot of work is generated through editorial and placing them for commissions in turn art directors and clients reference there work for projects and jobs come out of it.
A big part of the business is who you know and getting your work under the right peoples noses. journalists, art buyers, creative directors and art directors as well as photo editors, brand managers and creative commissioners.
Hope some of this helps, we are incredibly busy so that's about all the time I can spare. You caught me in a good mood!
Good luck with your projects and plans for the future.
